Mayor's Report For February 2018
It is hard to believe that at the end of February I will have completed three - quarters of my year in office. On the 12th Feb I attended a site visit at Cowbridge Athletic Club to view plans to improve their boundary along the A48 By-Pass. The plan is to remove the large conifers and the old metal screen and plant a hornbeam hedge amongst other trees and plants, The Club will be looking for grant aid to realise this project. Cowbridge School invited me and my consort Rob to their musical production of Guys and Dolls on the 15th February at the school. The performance of all involved was truly incredible and there was a 34 piece school band playing all the music. The make-up and costumes all added to the overall spectacle. Well done to all involved for putting on such an entertaining professional show.
Finally on the 22nd February Rob and I attended a reception in ‘The Yard’ to celebrate Vale Life magazine moving offices to Britannia House in Cowbridge. The event was attended by local businesses and hosted by Nigel Richards and Jennifer Hobbs-Roberts from Vale Life. Those present enjoyed The Yard’s freshly baked pizzas, drinks, live music and a raffle. Let’s hope that the current Siberian chill does not last too long into March when we will be attending a large variety of events. I am hosting two charity events in March for Cancer Research Wales, my monthly coffee morning on Sat 3rd March in the Mayor’s Parlour 10.30am – 12 noon and a Cheese and Wine evening on Sat 24th March 7 – 10pm in the Lesser Town Hall £10 per ticket available from the Town Hall Tel: 01446 773385.
