Vale Of Glamorgan Walking Festival 2017

On Wednesday 24th May, Members of Cowbridge Town Council with other participant walkers took part in the first of four planned walks for the Cowbridge day of the Vale of Glamorgan Walking Festival.

The first walk was a 2 mile stroll around Cowbridge led by Rebecca Exley, a Valeways co-ordinator.  Accompanying her was Jane Hutt AM, the Mayor of Cowbridge, Councillor Sian Vaughan and her Consort Mr Rob Vaughan, the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Terry Williams and Deputy Mayoress, Jane Williams, the Town Clerk, David B Morris, a number of Town Councillors and community members.

At the conclusion of the walk refreshments were served in the Lesser Hall of the Town Hall, consisting of homemade cakes and biscuits that had been donated by the Town Councillors.

This was the 8th Vale of Glamorgan Annual Walking Festival.  The Festival is famous for its free guided trail/footpath walks and this was the first Cowbridge day theme with a choice of 4 different walks around Cowbridge varying in length from 2 miles to 8 miles.
